having odom as our third option at 14 mil per is hard to stomach especially after he proved last night that he is far from a big game performer. maybe another trade for a sf upgrade is needed. Personally, i like the top lineup better but i dont believe that odom can play the three. with ariza and luke, and vlad(part time at the three), we would be stacked at the sf position. would sacto be willing to part with him if we offered odom for artest and a bad contract like kenny thomas? odom has an expiring contract next season and could somewhat help them at the four position. here is where i would love to get artest somehow to defend the likes of melo, bron, and pierce. lamar cant play the three for us and shouldnt. if gasol starts at the four, bynum at center, is phil going to put odom back at the three? i am willing to bet that there may be another deal brewing somehow. If bynum comes back healthy, does he start? or will he go back to the bench? we all know that the lamar playing the sf position failed because he is just not aggressive enough to take advantage of his size against the smaller three's in the league and he cant stop the elite defensively like melo, bron, pierce, j howard, as well as a few others. this guy has really disappointed me over and over again this season as well as the previous two seasons and im not going to turn this into a lamar hating thread since i am in a very good mood now, though i have a lot to say about him after watching him disappoint after the pistons game last night. Now my question is what to do with lamar odom. things are definitely looking up for us even more now than before the injuries we have recently suffered. not to mention having the best player in the game playing sg for us. here is where vlad, sasha, farmar, and fish will come in handy. imagine trying to double kobe now? we will have one of the best inside/outise game in the league, if not the best. pau gasol is a bonafide pf/center in this league, and when bynum comes back healthy, we should have the best front line in the league. we recieved the second option we have been looking for by trading a backup center, a couple of low first rounders, and a rookie who wasnt going to get much playing time anytime soon. I am so happy with the trade we just made. even though i have been reading everyones posts, i will start contributing soon. Sorry for creating a new thread on this but i will merge it after i read some of your responces.įirst of all, im happy to be back on LTB after taking a long break. keep in mind, artest can help contain forwards like bron, pierce, marion, j howard, and melo. I would take thomas' bad contract to get artest. I trust Phil to come out with the best lineup possible. We might have to have a player making 13 million dollars come off the bench. I really can't think a trade for a SF that we can get for Odom. The only thing is that we take a horrible contract from Thomas. If they would, I would do that trade in a heartbeat. I would trade him for a SF, but who? I don't think PHX would do Marion for LO, anymore. he may be best suited coming off the bench for us but i have a serious problem with a 14 mil a year bench player. i agree, this trade gives us many options but i will have to keep going back to my original post and say that i dont think odom will work out at the three for us. This was an amaizing trade, that gives us so many different options. Also, don't forget, we have two open roster spaces, so maybe we can sign a veteran player like Patterson or some big man. We could also have Gasol play the 5 at times. I say either go with the lineup that I mentioned or go with this: We would have Lamar coming off of the bench. I personally think that is a sick 1st unit, and second unit. Okay so this is my lineup, when everyone is healthy: Welcome back, Cnick! Glad to have you back. You are amazing and each one of you who cares for the less fortunate on my heroes in my book. I am a Hospice Nurse and I love what I do. So thank you for letting us watch you and Kobe and the rest of the Team watch great Basketball.
